一、主语:是句子陈述的对象，说明是谁或什么，表示句子说的是“什么人”或“什么事”。主语通常位于谓语动词之前，表明一个动作是谁发出(主动语态)或承受的(被动语态)。常作主语的有名词、代词、主语从句、v-ing(动名词)和to do(动词不定式)五种。
名词作主语
Some people claim that wild animals have no place in the 21st century. 一些人认为在21世纪野生动物没有生存空间。
代词作主语
We are now living in an information-explosion era. 我们正生活在一个信息爆炸的时代。
主语从句做主语
Whether sports stars should earn a high salary is still discussed heatedly. 体育明星是否应该赚取高收入引起了人们热烈的争论。
It is crystal clear that education is indispensable to us in this updating society. 显而易见，在不断发展的社会中，教育对于我们是至关重要的。
v-ing(动名词)作主语
Raising pets has become a growingly popular personal hobby. 养宠物已经成为一个越来越受欢迎的个人爱好。
There is no accounting for tastes. 人各有所好。
There is no hiding of evil but not to do it. 若要人不知，除非己莫为。
(拿分句型:there is no+动名词为常见结构，相当于it is impossible to do sth.)
to do(动词不定式)作主语
To protect the environment is everybody's business. 每个人都应该为保护环境尽一份力。
To do this is to cut the foot to fit the shoe. 这样做是削足适履。(主语和表语均用不定式，语气强烈，发人深省。）
